Capitalism is the noose we have woven.
The Satanic Citizen newsletter is an irregular missive of thinking, recommendations, and site updates. Warning: opinions.

If you believe that fighting for your freedom means denying someone else theirs, then you are not fighting for freedom. You are fighting for supremacy.
— Karim Wafa Al-Hussaini
If we continue our pace of ecological murder and fascism, we will enter a moribund cycle of displacement and survival, displacement and survival, over and over again. A slow-motion suicide.
Capitalism is the noose we’ve woven, and capitalizing despots are helping us get the fit around our neck just right. We will asphyxiate — slowly, then violently. We’ve spent generations convincing ourselves the noose needs to be there, that it’s required for societal structure. It feels weird to challenge it. To push back against “tradition” and “patriotism”. To ask why.
Capitalism promotes uncritical thinking on the scale of religion: keep serving, don’t step out of line, deflect with aggression, trust promises over evidence. Its power brokers and acolytes block the policies and disrupt the conversations that actually deal with the structural roots of inequality and environmental destruction by blurring capitalism with freedom, wealth with intelligence, moreMoreMORE with happiness. Why? Faith-based projects are profit-based projects. They need you dumb, dependent, rinsed out.
I struggle with this. As a white-collar worker American, I am in the noose and I help make the noose. I feel trapped, constantly, lacking the tools or knowledge to even know how to struggle against it. The problem is too wide, too deep, bottomless, a dizzying hopelessness. Where do I begin?
Satanism provides intellectual and moral frameworks to challenge this suicide state. But enlightenment is not enough. We’re judged on action, not ideas. The only solution is to do the work. Undo the bindings, thread by thread, molecule by molecule. Every day, as much as our strength allows.
